CHARMIN® BASIC

I recently signed up with this Awesome company BuzzAgent. Basically you sign up and take surveys. If you are a good fit for one of their Buzzcampaigns, you will be asked if you would like to participate. If you agree to participate, they will mail you a Buzzkit, which does take a few weeks to get.  Once you receive your kit, you test it out and post a review.

My very first BuzzKit!
Who wouldn't know the first one I get, is on toilet paper (is this a hint??). But I can't complain I received a 6 pack of Charmin basic, for Free. Yes I said Free!
Seriously Cute packaging Tape!

Anyway..Let me get to the Toilet paper... It's nice, I mean it's Charmin. The rolls are huge! My complaint though, you have to use quite a bit to get the job done. It's not just tear off a piece and your done. It also has a lot of fuzzies. When you tear off a piece, you see them flying around. So I'm not a big fan. I won't be buying this specific type of Charmin. I do use their ultra strong, so I will be sticking with that type.

If your interested in signing up for BuzzAgent, Here is a link.

Are any of my readers Buzz Agents? If so, tell me what you think of BuzzAgent, in the comments.

Bed Head

So I have been using this shampoo/conditioner for about a month now. Let me tell you, I am in LOVE! This product smell so heavenly, and make my hair feel soooooo soft!

I have super dry hair this winter. I also blow dry my hair, and use a flat iron, so my hair is pretty damaged. This Shampoo and Conditioner has helped me out so much. It really lathers well, leaves this amazing smell that lasts until my next wash, and helps me with frizz. Honestly my hair looks so much healthier and is easier to manage. I find that after using this shampoo & conditioner, it takes me a lot less time to straighten my hair. HUGE plus!! It was taking me between 20 to 30 minutes a day to straighten, now it takes me about 10 to 15 minutes! I am in love ( did I say this already?...Yep...)

Now the Con... It is on the expensive side. You can find the shampoo Here at Ulta (25.36 oz). It sells for $28.99. Yes that is super expensive for shampoo, You also need the conditioner which you can find Here. The conditioner sells for $29.99 (25.36 oz). I have no idea why the conditioner is a dollar more???

I bought mine from Nordstrom Rack. I purchased it as a combo pack. I believe it was $26, for both the shampoo and conditioner. So if you are interested in trying out this shampoo/conditioner (Which you seriously have to try) do some research. Look around, and see where you can find this product for the best price..

Burt's Bees Sheer Body Lotion

As usual, I was out shopping today. I ran across this Burt's Bees Body Lotion. I'm in desperate need of a good body lotion. I figured I would give this a try, since I LOVE their lip balms.
I have to say, I am soooooo disappointed!

They offer 3 different scents to choose from.
Violet & Mango
Cucumber & Aloe
Clementine & Calla Lilly

I decided on Cucumber & Aloe. It doesn't really smell like cucumber, which is totally fine with me. It smells more floral. I can't quite place the scent but it's not cucumber or aloe.
According to the bottle this lotion is suppose to be lightweight and absorbs quickly, for silky and smooth skin.

I will give them one prop, it does make your skin silky! I've had this on for about an hour now, and I still can't pick up my phone without it sliding right out of my hands. It's really getting on my last nerve now. My skin doesn't feel very moisturized either. I had to put 3 sprays, to get it all over my hands...maybe this is why they are so slick??....I don't know, but needless to say I'm not impressed with this lotion! My search, still continues....

Baby Lips

So I was out shopping today with my husband and came across this awesome deal at Target. If you bought 4  Maybelline baby lips products, you would receive a $5 gift card. Of course I got excited and bought 4! I've been wanting to give these a try for some time now. It was a little difficult deciding on what shades or styles to buy though. I decide to go with Crystal and Dr. Rescue.

Let's start off with Dr. Rescue. You can choose from 6 different shades. I bought Pink me up and Berry Soft.
Information from Maybelline's site:
Medicated care + 12 HR hydration.
Soothes quickly with a hint of eucalyptus.
Cools sore lips with a though of icy menthol.

Pink Me Up
Berry Soft

My lips are super dry. This winter has taken it's toll on my body! You can really feel the tingle from the menthol. The colors I chose are pretty sheer. Honestly all in all, these are helping my lips feel a lot smoother, but they are not lasting very long. 15 minutes tops, before I have to apply another coat.

Left is Pink Me Up & Right is Berry Soft.

Up Next is the Crystal colors. Which I hate to say, I do not care for. You can also choose from 6 different shades. I chose, Twinkling Taupe & Beam of Blush

The Left Side is Beam of Blush & The Right side is Twinkling Taupe

The reason I do not care for these balms is because of the shimmer. It leaves a very clear shimmer to your lips. That's just not my thing. If it wasn't for that, they are pretty nice balms. Again they do not stay on very long though. The colors are not too bad. Beam of Blush just didn't look good on my skin tone.

You can really see the shimmer

These Lip Balms are not so bad. They sell for a pretty decent price. I'm not quite sure what all of the hype about these, is though. For me they were nothing special. I will use them until they are gone, and not re-buy.
They sure look pretty on my counter

If you want a little more information about these lip balms, you can check them out Here on Maybelline's site.

The Girl On The Train

So I'm a bit of a book worm! I saw an article about a book coming out in January. Of course it interested me, so my sweet husband picked it up for me.

The Girl On The Train by Paula Hawkins.
Photo From Barnes & Noble
Description: (From Barnes & Noble site)
Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. “Jess and Jason,” she calls them. Their life—as she sees it—is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.
And then she sees something shocking. It’s only a minute until the train moves on, but it’s enough. Now everything’s changed. Unable to keep it to herself, Rachel offers what she knows to the police, and becomes inextricably entwined in what happens next, as well as in the lives of everyone involved. Has she done more harm than good?
Compulsively readable, The Girl on the Train is an emotionally immersive, Hitchcockian thriller and an electrifying debut.

Pretty much this book is about 3 different women. Each woman's story, is written like they are making an entry in their own journal. The more you read, the more you will realize how these women are intertwined.

First off you have Rachel, who is now a drunk because of something that happened in her life. Rachel has trouble remembering things that happen when she gets drunk. Which is often, that part gets a bit annoying towards the end. There is one night in particular, that she's struggling to remember. .

Then you have Megan. Her "entry's" are about her struggles with depression and anxiety, and dealing with a horrible secret from her past. The secret from her past really upset me. I honestly wish this part wasn't in the book at all. Megan has a lot of secret's and lies, going on in her story.

Last but not least you have Anna. I really don't like Anna at all! Her story to me is just terrible. Anna's "entry's" are more along the lines of her husband and child, and their struggles with her husband's ex wife.

All in all I really did enjoy this book. Only took me 2 nights to read it. In my opinion it's geared more toward female readers though. About half way through I did have my suspicions, which was confirmed in the end (I don't want to give anything away).
I was a bit disappointed in the way the book ended. I wanted a few more answers, that I just never got. Over all though, I really enjoyed it. I look forward to reading some more of Paula Hawkins books.

What do you guys think? Has anyone read The Girl On The Train? Does it sound like a book you want to read?

NYX Be Gone Makeup Remover Wipes

I'm a big fan of NYX, I use a few of their products (I will be reviewing them shortly). So I was excited to see they offered a makeup remover. Of course I had to buy it. It was only $4.99 at Ulta, not too bad of a price.
According to the packaging it thoroughly removes all dirt, oil, and makeup even water proof mascara. Seriously what could be better! Mascara is just a pain to get off anyway.

The packaging is pretty simple. Doesn't really scream Buy Me!

The wipes are a pretty good size. Not too wet, but not too dry either. It has a nice floral sent, does get a bit strong after a few minutes.

I was soooo disappointed! It took Forever to remove my mascara! I literally had to scrub.
After a few minutes and some red eyes, I finally got it all off. It left my skin not feeling so great. Despite the wipes being slightly wet, it left my face feeling very dry. And lord help me, I can still smell the floral scent!! I think I will be throwing these away and looking for something else!
As you can see it did Finally take off my mascara!

Remington T|Studio SILK Ceramic Heated Clip Hair Setter (Simple term Hot Curlers) & Rock Your Hair Hot Curls, Thermal Curl Spray

My old set of curlers...well lets put it this way...Died...(they got glued onto my bathroom vanity shelf, with my hot wax..Opps!) So I figured it was time to buy a new set. The ones I had, are unfortunately not made anymore..Always figures, they quit making the good things! I'm too lazy to use a curling iron all of the time (my hair is super thick).
I was shopping at Target and saw these Remington curlers. I already use their flat iron, so I figured I would give these a shot. They are really quite cute. The clips are a dark pink, and the rollers are black. The box claims they set curls in 5 minutes with Heated Clip Technology...humm...

A little into the specifics of these curlers, from the box...
20 velvety soft rollers in Two sizes.
12 Large 1 1/4" rollers
8 Medium 1" rollers
Heated Clip Technology
Easy, mess free storage
Silk ceramic with ionic conditioning gives you frizz free, silky smooth curls with less damage.
90 Second fast heat up power indicator LED light
4 Year warranty

I Prep my hair with the Rock your hair curl spray.( I picked this bottle up at TJ Maxx)
Ugh this spray left a sticky mess in my hair and all over my bathroom...bummer...Plus side, when it dries it's no longer sticky, and has a nice kind of floral smell to it.

So it is true, they heat up really fast! That's always a huge plus, especially if your like me and are always running late!
First off, OUCH...The rollers get super hot on the sides! You have to use the clips just to be able to get the fireballs out!
Once my fingers quit burning, they are easy and smooth to roll on. The clips hold my hair nicely. Not one roller fell out! Huge perk...
I left them in my hair until they were cool to the touch.
See the slit, were the curler goes into the base.^^ Yeah my hair got stuck in almost every one.

Thought I was going to have to cut this one out!
So my hair has a nice curl to it. I add some hairspray, gently run my ringers through my hair, add some more hairspray...
Fast Forward 10 minutes
Yep not a single curl left! I do have a nice wave to my hair though...But a wave is not the look I was going for!
Guess I will be back on the hunt for a nice set of curlers, that will hold a curl!
If you have thick hair like me, these might not be the right curlers for you!

January's BarkBox

I have 4 dogs, so buying treats and toys can get expensive! Let alone trying to find good, healthy treats made in the USA. Not to mention, who can decide on the 1 million different toys!! So this is were BarkBox comes in handy!
You can order either 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, or 12 months, of BarkBoxes. You do have to pay up front, which for me was a huge negative! But you can customize your boxes, if you have small dogs, medium, and large. If your like me and have different size dogs, all you have to do is give them a call and they will work with you on your box. Now this part I LOVE, they donate 10% of their profits to dogs in need! Here is a list of the different organizations they donate to.

On to my box! I received it this morning.

Inside was 5 different items!

My dog Sam went crazy over the R2pet Monster!
1. R2pet Monster ($10)
This Toy is super cute! It's so soft, has this honking squeaker, and the arms make a crinkle noise. Which my big boy Sam Loves! He's still running around the house with this toy!

2. Caru Real Beef Stew ($6, 12.5oz)
Ok this info is straight from the info card, that came with my box.
"Made in small batches with the same care and attention as your own homemade stews, this delectable dish is made from Human-grade ingredients, the #1 ingredient being USDA inspected beef. This stew is grain, gluten, GMO free; preservative free, and developed with a PhD animal nutritionist."
I think I will warm this up, for their dinner tonight!

3. Butcher's Block Bones Trachea ($2)
My dogs Love bones! I mean LOVE! So this is going to be a huge hit!

4. Max & Ruffy's Blizzard Bites ($5)
These treats are Molasses & Ginger flavor. They are already a huge hit here. All 4 dogs have eaten theirs and wanted more!

5. Aussie Naturals Salmon Skins ($8)
Ok these Stink! And I mean stink....But Sam seems to be enjoying them. He will chew on one for a few minutes, leave and come back for more. They do have the scales on them still, which I do not like.  Like with any treat make sure you watch your dogs and have plenty of water around!
According to the package they are great for skin and coat. Here's hoping it really does help with skin, poor Sam has some dry skin!

My dogs seem pretty happy with their BarkBox this month! I can't wait to see what will be in next month's box!

Wicked Good Cupcakes

Does anyone watch Shark Tank? My husband and I love to watch it. It's fun to try and find some of the products we see on tv.  I found Wicked Good Cupcakes website, and figured why not, lets see how they are.
I ordered their Valentines's 2 pack. You get to choose from 16 different flavors. I decided on Salted Caramel, and Cupid's Vanilla Confetti

The cupcakes are packed really well. It doesn't seem like, there is any chance they would break! Which is Awesome! With the Valentine's order, you were able to choose your receive by date. They don't guarantee it, but mine arrived when I choose.

They even ship you two spoons!

Ok So I couldn't wait to taste them! I started off with Salted Carmel
(Ok seriously Ignore my feet in the picture, opps!)

Here is a quick description of the Salted Carmel, from Wicked Good Cupcake's Website.
A vanilla cupcake layered between drizzles of homemade caramel sauce and our amazing sea salted cream cheese, butter cream, caramel frosting. Sprinkled with white nonpareils.

So this flavor was pretty good. You can really taste the caramel and butter cream. I'm not a huge fan of butter cream, but my husband is. The cupcake was moist, which was one of my concerns.

Now on to the Cupid's Vanilla Confetti

(Ugh my feet are in this one too! *Note to self, learn how to take pictures!)

Here's the Description from the Wicked Good Cupcake's Website
We’ve dressed up our vanilla cake with pink and red confetti baked right in! We layered vanilla cake between swirls of pink, vanilla buttercream frosting and topped it off with pink and red jimmies. Fun!

I liked this one a lot more than the Salted Caramel! I'm more of a fan of vanilla cake. The butter cream frosting didn't seem as strong in this jar.

The jars the cupcakes are put into are super cute. Wonder what I can do with them??

All in All, these are pretty good, but I don't think they are worth the money. I hate to say this because I do feel bad, but they are expensive! My husband about had a stroke when I told him how much I paid. My cost was a little over $26 with shipping and taxes. That's a lot of boxes of cake mix I could buy!
The Plus of these cupcakes are, they are homemade, baked and packed the day they ship, and they come in super cute jars (with spoons!).

What do you think? Would you buy these?

If you are interested in buying some Here is a link to their website.

January Ipsy Bag

So I finally got my Ipsy bag. This month's theme is Fresh Start. The Bag is not very cute at all! It's dark blue on one side, white on the other, and the inside is a kind of coral color. I don't know, it just is ugly!

 Anyway....This month I received 5 samples.
1. Coastal Scents Liquid Eyeliner
2. Hey Honey Take It Off! Exfoliating Honey Peel Off Mask
3. Pacifica Natural Mineral Coconut Eye Shadow
4. (MALIN+GOETZ) Mojito Lip Balm
5. Laura Mercier Foundation Primer

I'm not very excited about these samples. But hey it was only $10 so I'm not going to complain that much...I haven't tried the honey take it off mask yet. I just used a mask yesterday, so I'm going to wait until next week to give this one a try. I will update you on it later.

So For my Review

1. Coastal Scents Liquid Eyeliner (6ml)
This is my 2nd time now getting liquid eyeliner from Ipsy (I wish they would stop!) I don't wear liquid eyeliner. It's just not my thing. This one though I have to give some serious props. It is a PAIN to get off! Which is nice, you don't want your liner smudging every 2 seconds. The applicator is small and seems to be pretty nice. I guess if I wore liquid liner I would use this one.

2. Hey Honey Take It Off! Exfoliating Honey Peel Off Mask (10 ml)
Like I said, I haven't given this a try yet, but I will update you when I do! I do like how it's not tested on animals!!

3. Pacifica Natural Mineral Coconut Eye Shadow (0.08 oz)
I received the color Ethereal. This is actually kind of cute. Nice size sample, should last me quite a while. It gives a nice glittery shine. This wouldn't be my every day eye shadow but I would wear it on special occasions. Only negative is, its rubs off quite easily. Bummer...

4. (MALIN+GOETZ) Mojito Lip Balm (0.20 oz)
No...Just No...This reminds me of when I was a teen and everyone wanted that soaking wet lip look. I hated it! Now if you are interested in your lips looking drenched then this is for you. It smells a little bit minty but also has that weird medicine smell to it. It does stay on though! I had to rub and rub to get this off of my lips.

5. Laura Mercier Foundation Primer (14.7ml/0.5fl oz)
I don't use foundation primer either...I know, I don't seem to use very much...But I use a powder makeup.. I have super sensitive skin (sucks)..This primer did smell nice, went on smooth, and seemed to stay put. But it made my powder cake on.

All in all I really did like the Pacifica Eye Shadow. I don't think I would buy it though. The sample size should last me a while. I have been receiving Ipsy samples for a few months now. I enjoy it. I love how they send you a sneak peak of what will be in your bag. It get's me excited to finally receive my samples! You also can take a quiz to determine your style. Which is completely different than Birchbox. Getting the different bags each month is nice perk too. I can always use them for when I travel. I'm pretty happy with Ipsy. Lets see what next months has in store!

If you are interested in signing up for Ipsy, you can find the link Here.

OPI Nail Polish

Ok if you know anything about me, you know I am addicted to Nail Polish! I swear I must own over 100 bottles (at least that's what my husband says). My absolute favorite brand is OPI. It goes on smooth and stays on for long periods of time.
I was out shopping today and picked up a few bottles ;)

From Left to Right:
Romantically Involved
Do you have this color in Stock-Holm?
My dogsled is a hybrid
Can't find my czechbook.

I am so excited about Romantically Involved. This color is part of OPI's 50 shades of Grey Collection! Yes I am one of those crazy women that read all of the books, and Enjoyed them!  If you are like me and interested in collecting these shades, you can find the link Here.
So Here is what Romantically Involved looks like on my nails

Here is Do you have this color in Stock-Holm?

Here is My dogsled is a hybrid

And Here is Can't find my czechbook.

It's so hard for me to choose a favorite color! I think my least favorite color is My dogsled is a hybrid. It's a pretty color and my husband's favorite, but not quite my style.
Now  Romantically Involved is a really pretty shade of red. I think I will be wearing this for Valentines Day.
Do you have this color in Stock-Holm? is also pretty. It's a deep shade of purple. I like it a lot. I might just keep this one on this week.
I think overall my favorite shade is Can't find my czechbook. It reminds me of Winter. With the rainy and cold weather we are having right now, this color works perfect!

What do you all think? What is your favorite brand and color of nail polish?

BirchBox January 2015

Lets get this blog started off with my review on this months BirchBox!

So I have only been receiving Birchbox, for 2 months now. January's "Let's Do This!" was my 2nd box. I hate to be a stick in the mud, but I'm not very impressed with this month's box. First let me give you a list of the products I received.
#1. Davines Oil Absolute Beautifying Potion. This sample also came with shampoo and conditioner. Full Size would cost you $41
#2. Dr. Jart+ Premium Beauty Balm SPF 45+. Full Size would cost you $39
#3. Harvey Prince Sincerely. Full Size would cost you $55
#4. Naobay Body Radiance Lotion. Full Size would cost you $18
#5. theBalm Stainiac. Full Size would cost you $17.

So if you were to buy full size on all of these products you would spend (Let's see if I did my math right) $170! So you are only spending $10 a month to receive 5 samples! That part I am excited about. I love to try new things, and by getting samples mailed to me, I get to try some things I wouldn't normally buy. Now on to my review.

#1. Davines Oil Absolute Beautifying Potion, with shampoo and conditioner.
This oil product is suppose to be Lightweight, antioxidant-rich serum that tames frizz, boosts shine, and prevents breakage.~According to my sample card~
I was actually very excited to try this. I have horrible frizzy hair and can seriously use some shine! I was so bummed when I tried this. I did not like it at all. It left my hair very greasy looking.  On the plus side, it did tame the frizz.
Now the shampoo and conditioner.. Honestly I have such long thick hair, I didn't have enough to really form an opinion :(
Would I Repurchase- No. I would rather save my $41 and try to find something that didn't make my hair greasy looking.

#2.  Dr. Jart+ Premium Beauty Balm SPF 45+
Yeah No. The color I was shipped is Not even close to being the color I would use! I don't care for BB creams, but I figured I would give this one a shot. Even if it was the correct color, I still wouldn't use it. It was very heavy on my skin. It didn't blend very well at all.
Would I Repurchase- NO not at all

#3. Harvey Prince Perfume
Suppose to be sweetly spicy scent with Indonesian clove bud, Indian tuberose, and Japanese orange flower.  It has a Very strong smell. If you do use this, Please Please only use one squirt! I sprayed this in my room 2 days ago, and the smell is still here!
Would I Repurchase- No I wouldn't. It doesn't smell too bad, but not something I would wear. My husband also hates it, so not something for me.

#4. Naobay Body Radiance Lotion
I had soooo hoped this would be amazing lotion. My skin is just so dry this winter. This lotion uses olive oil and avocado to hydrate and soften skin. Yet again I was so disappointed. It goes on very thick, but left my skin feeling very greasy. Huge bummer :(
Would I Repurchase- No I wouldn't, the search is still on for the perfect lotion

#5. Last but not least. theBalm Stainiac
This is a stain you can use on your cheeks and lips.
No, No, No, No...Need I say more? Ok I will... This was horrible for me. It felt like slim I put on my lips. I refused to put it on my cheeks.
Would I Repurchase- NO! Why would I put a stain on my cheeks??? I still have this on my lips after 2 days of trying to scrub it off! NO

Like I said before, I hate to be a stick in the mud. But I was not very happy with my Birchbox products this month. Fingers crossed next month will be much better. It is soooo exciting to see what surprises you get each month!
On the positive side. I did get to sample products I would not have normally bought for myself.
If you are interested in signing up for Birchbox, you can find the link HERE.
