Let me first tell you a little bit about this box. Try the world is a gourmet subscription box, that ships every 2 months. The subscription I chose cost $39 every 2 months. There are other payment choices. You can subscribe for 6 months for $105. That will save you about 10 percent off of each box. That box will come to $35 a box.
Then they offer a yearly subscription which is a 15 percent savings. That box will cost $198 a year, and comes to only $33 a box.
Each box will be from a different part of the world. My box is from Venice, and my next will be Paris. They offer boxes from all kind of places like, Istanbul and Tokyo. Seriously how fun is that!
Let's get on to my box!
The first item I have is Perugina Dark Chocolate Limoncello. This is such a delicious chocolate bar! I do not like dark chocolate at all, but I'm in love with this bar. It's premium dark chocolate with natural lemon flavor. When they say natural lemon flavor, they are not joking! This chocolate bar, really does taste like it has lemon in it. Sooooo Yummy! It's not that nasty artificial lemon flavor!
Ok I have Domori Amarene. Let me sum this up for you. It's Cherry chocolate treats. They are dark chocolate little balls with cocoa dusting, and a cherry in the middle. I honestly did not like these at all. The cherry in the middle, was really good but I didn't enjoy the chocolate. My husband didn't either. Oh well, not everything will be a hit!
Up next is Don Peppino, Cracker. These are Mediterranean crackers with flavors of oregano or rosemary. I hate oregano and these really taste of it. So not something I enjoy. According to my cheat sheet card (Thankfully it comes with the box) These crackers pair well with a range of meats and cheeses. Ok...
Yummy...Next I have La Bandita Di Daniela Mariotti...Pear and Grappa Jam, for those of you who are like me, and are going what???
I have zero clue what grappa is?? But I do know what Pear is! This jam is really good. It has a hint of pear and just this wonderful sweetness to it. Not over powering though. It's really yummy on toast! According to the card this rare jam (rare??) is flavored with feature of brandy that is indigenous to the region of Italy and matches perfectly with most bread and cheeses.
Apicoltura Luca Finocchio....Thousand Flowers Honey
This honey comes from Tornarreccio, the honey capital of Europe. This honey is really thick and wonderful! It's very sweet and of course is yummy on toast!
Monte Pollino...Red Pepper Tapenade (Hot)
Hot and sweet read peppers that have soaked up plenty of Italian sunshine make up the base of this fiery relish. This smells really good, but looks like pure crap! So ignore the look of it and just go with the taste.
Last up was a Mystery treat.
I received 2, 2fl oz White Truffle Oil. There really wasn't much information on this, other than it's white truffle oil. I'm going to have to find something to make with this. I have always wanted to try Truffles so, this works for me!
All in All, I am really happy with this box! It gave me things I would not normal buy for myself and all of it comes from Italy. How fun is that seriously!
