Here's a little info for you from the Dr. Brown's website:
Introducing Dr. Brown’s Options: The market’s first convertible bottle that can be used with or without the vent system. The new vent system is designed to grow with baby, and we recommend using this system to experience all the health benefits of our bottle. It helps reduce feeding problems, helps digestion and helps preserve vitamins. Some moms and dads find removing the vent a convenient option as their baby’s feeding becomes more developed. The nipple venting creates a paced flow, and provides a feeding experience similar to most nipple-vented bottles
We recommend using the vent system to experience all the health benefits of our bottle
- Helps reduce feeding problems
- Helps preserve vitamins
- Helps digestion
- Vent and nipple create vacuum-free feeding
For my daughter these bottles seemed to be the best, to reduce gas. I'm very happy with these bottles. And they are Super easy to clean! The vent comes right apart, so you can get every little nook cleaned.

My only complaint is having to buy larger sized nipples. You can't buy the larger bottles with a size 2 nipple. You have to buy them separately and of course you get a 2 pack of nipples, but a 3 pack of bottles...Oh well....
Now about the formula I use...Yeah don't even go there...Seriously... My poor baby has been on I swear 6 different formulas. Since she was born she has been "vomiting" her formula. (And none of this negative, you should have breastfed her crap! I couldn't. End of Story) We have tried everything that was suppose to help with that and nada. Her pediatrician says some babies just go through this, and she should out grown it shortly. At the moment she is on Enfamil, Gentlease. I don't want to jinx it but so far she is keeping almost all of it down! YAY!
